Justine Pretorious
Digital Marketing Manager
What project are you currently working on?
Brand Ambassador Program, Community News, Blog post for food and beverage, social media communications, website functionality, and the marketing plan for 2017.
Why do you like your job?
I love my job! I get to use my skillsets to communicate online via our website and through social media! I love providing useful information to help others. My favorite part of my job is interacting with the community and building relationships.
What accomplishment in life are you most proud of?
I am most proud of volunteering in my community. In the Bay Area I was a long time volunteer for the Family Giving Tree project. We made it a family event so that we could teach the kids about participating in their community. In Truckee, California I volunteered as the Online Chair (website, social media, and photographer) to help raise funds for cancer research, services, and awareness for Relay For Life. I also volunteered for the Truckee Community Christmas as their Social Media Manager that helped to communicate how to donate and participate in the program that helped local families during the holiday with gifts and food donations.
How do you give back to your community?
I like to do a variety of things in the community but most recently I have volunteered in the WordPress community. I attend local Meetups helping others with their questions about how to use WordPress for their websites. I also volunteer for WordCamps as a Social Media Manager to help with communications for their event. I am currently helping get the next WordCamp Portland up and going for 2017.
What do you do in your free time?
I am currently enjoying getting out and taking pictures with my camera of Portland. The fall weather has been beautiful rain or shine which has me constantly taking photos of all of the fall colors through out the city.
I have been getting back to being creative with art projects. My husband gave me a book called Zenspirations that shows you how to create patterns and lettering with different techniques. I have been practicing the techniques and creating a variety of pieces of art.
I also like to explore. Over the summer we went on a motorcycle trip down the coast of Oregon and into California and back to Portland, Oregon in 10 days. We got out recently and explored old highway 30. We saw the spectacular view of the Gorge, Multnomah Falls, and the beautiful woods.
What is on your bookshelf?
I have a variety of books that I read from old Peanuts books to fictional stories about King Henry the V!
Here are some of my favorites:
- The Four Agreements
- The Shack
- Where The Sidewalk Ends
- Whole30
- The Queens Code
