Business Development Manager – Full Time
I. PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Business Development Manager will have a robust understanding of the sales process, excelling in lead generation, relationship building, and deal closing. This role is critical in integrating sustainable practices into event management. The ideal candidate is a quick learner with strong negotiation skills, able to compellingly showcase our offerings. Professionalism and a personable demeanor are essential.
II. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Leadership
- Create and distribute sales communications.
- Monitor various channels for new contacts and engage with existing contacts.
- Leverage existing client relationships for referrals.
- Track sales activities in CRM systems and weekly trackers.
- Maintain client and potential client meeting dates and milestones for strategic touchpoints.
- Create, review, and revise proposals and contracts.
- Maintain and update CRM data in collaboration with the Marketing Manager.
- Collaborate with sustainability and conference management teams to customize client scopes of work.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
Business Development
- Proactively research and identify potential clients, partnerships, and marketing opportunities.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to generate leads and promote services.
Sales Forecasting and Planning
- Develop and exceed sales goals.
- Hold regularly scheduled sales meetings.
- Track company-wide income activity and client evaluations.
- Produce weekly and month-end sales updates.
- Monitor and report key performance metrics, providing regular updates on progress and achievements.
- Conduct thorough market research to inform business strategies.
Client Renewal
- Attend client kick-off and post-conference meetings.
- Maintain communication with clients throughout their conference cycles.
- Develop renewal strategies with the project team.
- Contact clients for renewal, generate proposals, and/or contracts as needed.
- Implement strategies to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
Marketing Committee Participation
- Attend weekly marketing meetings and contribute as needed.
- Advise on how marketing can support sales efforts.
- Review marketing materials before publication.
- Contribute to marketing plan, campaign, and newsletter development.
- Identify ways to highlight clients/partners in marketing efforts.
- Collaborate with the Digital Marketing Manager to expand our online presence.

IV. Job Qualifications
- Experienced and skilled in all areas of business development.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to work effectively with clients.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Working knowledge of CRM systems.
- Ability to work remotely and independently.
- Experience in engaging with peer teams.
- Understanding of sustainability practices.
- Knowledge of meeting management.
V. HOURS
40 hours per week.
VI. Salary & Benefits
$65-$70k plus commission and benefits aligned with MeetGreen Personnel Policies.
